We proudly offer some of the most fun camp experiences to be had. With limited numbers, adult facilitation and inclusive activities, our camps are even fun for those who "hate camp". Read below to find out why!

At New Leaf Farms, our camps are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 6-8 children. This ensures that each child receives individual attention, which is particularly beneficial for those engaged in animal therapy and Equine therapy, especially for kids with Autism and ADHD. With our focus on neurodiversity, we also provide ample supervision to prevent any targeting or bullying, because kids are kids, and they need careful oversight!

At New Leaf Farms, we ensure that all of our horses are safe to be around, which is essential for effective animal therapy. This means they are well trained and, more importantly, well treated. Happy horses contribute to fun camp experiences, especially for those participating in equine therapy. We often spend time in the field with the horses during camp, creating an inclusive environment that embraces neurodiversity, including support for individuals with Autism and ADHD.

Many camps at New Leaf Farms are run by teens and young adults. Melissa facilitates these camps, drawing on her 20+ years of experience in social services and her expertise in special needs parenting. She ensures that everyone, including those benefiting from animal therapy, has their needs met, particularly focusing on supporting children with Autism and ADHD through equine therapy and promoting neurodiversity.

It's easy to get bored! At New Leaf Farms, we understand the importance of providing engaging activities for kids, especially those with Autism and ADHD. We ensure that there are always outlets for their energy, such as yoga balls, riding barrels, and games. These activities not only keep everyone feeling regulated but also support various forms of therapy, including equine therapy and animal therapy, fostering an environment that celebrates neurodiversity.

At New Leaf Farms, we prioritize small camp sizes to encourage kids, including those with Autism and ADHD, to make decisions that best suit their needs. If they're feeling hot, they can grab some water. If they're not interested in the current activity, they have the option to engage in animal therapy by cuddling a cat, doing a chore, or visiting the guinea pigs. Plus, there's no need to ask for permission to use the washroom! We promote safe, responsible self-regulation, embracing neurodiversity and offering activities like equine therapy.

At New Leaf Farms, we believe in learning through experiences rather than worksheets. Children, including those with Autism and ADHD, will have an active role in running the farm and caring for the animals. Every day, they will engage in animal therapy by feeding, cleaning up after, and interacting with the horses, goats, chickens, guinea pigs, and cats. This hands-on approach not only promotes neurodiversity but also incorporates elements of equine therapy to support their development.
We welcome your children ages 8+ to join us for a fun, inclusive week of horse camp at New Leaf Farms, located in Limehouse, ON. Our farm is a paradise for children who love animals and offers a unique experience that incorporates aspects of animal therapy, including equine therapy tailored for kids with Autism and ADHD. Our gentle horses, goats, chickens, and cats will provide days filled with fun and learning. GP Manor houses our playful guinea pigs, which children can visit throughout the day. We take a holistic approach, allowing kids to engage in what they enjoy most: playing! They will finish each day sweaty, dirty, and filled with stories. Our indoor arena keeps us sheltered from the sun and rain while we ride and practice groundwork with the horses, learning about their communication, care, and handling. Children will gain crucial skills for safety around horses, whether they are experienced horse-people or new to the equine world. Our horse-first approach at New Leaf Farms ensures our treatment of the horses is ethical and kind, with a focus on neurodiversity and inclusion. All camps are facilitated by Melissa, who ensures every child is included and having fun.
